When you play the way that Josh Allen plays, you're bound to get hit with a few turnovers here and there. The Buffalo Bills quarterback doesn't create as many explosive plays as he does without taking risks.
Those risks seemed to all come back to bite him in Week 3. Allen turned the ball over three times in Buffalo's win over the Los Angeles Chargers, keeping the game closer than it should have been. His mistakes didn't end up costing the Bills a victory, but they brought his electric start to the season to a grinding halt.
But just how bad was Allen's performance? We broke down his Week 3 performance and gave it a final grade.

Allen's first half couldn't have gone any worse. His first interception of the day was inexplicable, as he seemed to not see Chargers rookie safety Genesis Smith across the middle. Smith stepped in front of DJ Moore and easily picked the pass off.
He didn't waste much time before turning the ball over for the second time. Allen took another chance on a throw to Moore, throwing into double coverage and getting picked off by Smith once again.
Later in the game, Allen lost the ball on a sack by Chargers edge defender Khalil Mack for his third turnover of the day.
Of course, Allen did enough to bounce back and help the Bills earn the victory. His two rushing touchdowns, both from near the goal line, were enough to put the game away.
Allen finished the game completing 16 of his 26 pass attempts for 204 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. He added 22 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns to the stat sheet, along with a fumble.
It was easily his worst performance of the season so far. Heading into Week 3, Allen looked like the best player in the NFL by a significant margin. He was already emerging as a favorite to win his second MVP award in three years.
This showing brought Allen back down to earth.

A better opponent would have taken advantage of Allen's mistakes. The Chargers were unable to deliver consistently, dropping their record to 0-3, but this kind of performance is enough to lose a playoff game. Allen has to be more consistent in key moments and rein in his affinity for risk.
