In the ninth year of his NFL career, it's hard to believe that there was a time when Josh Allen had as many doubters as he had believers. The Buffalo Bills quarterback has established himself as one of the only undeniable forces in football. Two games into the 2026 season, it seems like he's taking his game to another level.
Allen was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his showing in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. Per the Bills' "X" account, "Allen has earned the honor 19 times and trails only Tom Brady (32), Peyton Manning (27) and Drew Brees (25) for the most player of the week awards all-time."
And he's only getting started. Allen is already well on his way to claiming his second MVP in three seasons.

Allen dominated the Lions on Thursday Night Football in Week 2, and he had already done most of his damage before halftime. He finished with three passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, and over 300 total yards.
While he didn't take home the Offensive Player of the Week in Week 1, he certainly came close. Allen put up four total touchdowns and over 350 total yards against a Houston Texans defense that was supposed to be one of the best in football. Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III got the nod instead, but the league took notice of Allen's dominance.
In Joe Brady's offense, the veteran quarterback is playing some of the best football of his career. He has kept the cannon of an arm and dynamic rushing ability that made him so intriguing as a prospect, all while honing in his accuracy and all but eliminating the reckless decisions that often led to turnovers in his early years.
With Allen at his best, Dalton Kincaid is well on his way to a breakout campaign.
If he keeps playing like this throughout the rest of the season, there isn't a defense in the NFL that will be able to stop him.
With over 650 yards and nine touchdowns already behind him this season, Allen is the clear favorite to win his second MVP award. With multiple primetime matchups still on Buffalo's schedule, the 30-year-old QB will get plenty of opportunities to show the rest of the league that he's levels above his competition.
