Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season is finally upon us, as the Buffalo Bills take on the Houston Texans. The final moments are counting down to kickoff, and that leaves just one step remaining. The final injury reports are in and the final inactives are out.

Practice Squad Callups
The new practice squad rules of 2025 remain in place for the 2026 season, providing some flexibility. It's a relief, and allows the Bills to carry out two for Week 1 despite a limited injury report.

The Buffalo Bills were unsettled by the end of the offseason, with their kick return battle showing no real winner. With that in mind, the team snagged WR Greg Dortch from the Lions as he was surprisingly cut on roster day. Dortch is a talented and capable receiver, and offers a lot in this role.
Meanwhile,Frank Gore Jr. was elevated to counterbalance the potential absence of RB Ty Johnson. Johnson entered Week 1 with a questionable designation after missing over a month of practice due to hamstring trouble.

Sanders inactive, he will simply make his season's debut against the Detroit Lions instead of the Houston Texans.
