Last week after the NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills wasted no time bringing in wide receiver Elijah Moore on a free agent visit. With the Bills only drafting one wideout in the 7th round, it was no surprise to see them bringing in Moore for a visit. Two days after the reported visit, the Bills and Moore agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million.

The Bills needed to add some speed to their receiving room and Moore certainly can do that. Brandon Beane took care of the wide receiver room this offseason with extending Khalil Shakir and signing Joshua Palmer. They also signed Laviska Shenault as a potential depth player.

Not to mention, the Bills also have Curtis Samuel and Keon Coleman too. Kaden Prather was drafted by the Bills, but he is a bigger receiver so there was still a need for speed. Well, now they have it.

The Bills announced that they officially signed Moore and he is ready to go to work. At 25 years old, Moore has never had a quarterback situation like he does now. Throughout his career, he’s had a revolving door of quarterbacks with both the Jets and Browns. However, he managed to have some success with the Browns the last two years. Now he gets Josh Allen to throw him the ball.

Josh Allen-effect continues to help Bills in free agency

After signing his contract, Moore spoke with some media members and Matthew Bove asked Moore about the opportunity “to play with the MVP” and “how much it swayed his decision”. Moore told Bove that it was “very easy” and that “everywhere he went, he was seeing #17 jerseys.” Moore then talked about how Allen’s not only a great football player, but a great person as well.

Having a quarterback like Allen helps the Bills with free agency because players want to play with the best players to get a chance at winning a Super Bowl. Allen is that type of player who is so close to getting a Super Bowl under his belt and players want to be part of the journey.

Ever since Allen took his leapfrog-like step in 2020, he’s been one of the most unstoppable players in the league. Players would rather play on the Bills that go up against them and the signing of Moore proves it.
