The Buffalo Bills have made their first post-NFL Draft move with the signing of speedy wide receiver Elijah Moore. It was reported by NFL Insider Jordan Schultz that the Bills were hosting Moore on a visit this past week. Now, it’s been confirmed by Adam Schefter that the Bills and Moore have agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million.

At 25 years old, Moore has had a rough career up to this point considering who he has played for. In 2021, he was drafted by the New York Jets in 2021 in the second round, but was traded away two years into his career due to him requesting a trade because of the lack of involvement in the offense. It also didn’t help that it was Zach Wilson throwing him the ball.

The Jets traded Moore to the Cleveland Browns where he was more involved with the offense despite their quarterback situation being even worse than the Jets. He had a career-high 61 catches last season and has had over 100 targets the last two years. Moore has had no issues getting involved in the Browns offense. Now he will get the chance to be part of a Bills offense that is led by Josh Allen with the mantra of “everybody eats”.

Buffalo acquires more speed at wide receiver with Moore and he is just entering his prime. They will have the chance to have him open up the field in the passing game. While fans should be excited for this signing, it also means that the door for a potential Amari Cooper reunion is closed.

Elijah Moore signing shuts the door on Amari Cooper-Bills reunion

It’s quite surprising that Amari Cooper hasn’t signed with a team yet, considering that he showed flashes last season with the Bills while being traded in the middle of the season. However, it doesn’t help that he suffered a wrist injury early on and was quiet in the playoffs. Maybe he’s looking to get one more good-sized contact before he leaves the league, or maybe he’s waiting to see what WR-needy team calls him out of desperation.

Either way, the signing of Moore basically closes the door on Cooper coming back to Western New York. With the addition of Moore, the Bills now have a wide receiver room that contains Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Laviska Shenault, and now Elijah Moore. Not to mention, you have guys like Tyrell Shavers and Kaden Prather who could surprise fans this summer.
