The Buffalo Bills are your AFC East champions for the fifth consecutive season. After a beatdown of the San Francisco 49ers, winning 35-10 in the snow, the Bills have guaranteed themselves atleast one home playoff game. Now the chase for the No. 1 seed in the AFC is on with the Kansas City Chiefs, who the Bills have already beaten this season.

Going into this Week 13 matchup against the 49ers, Buffalo had a massive advantage over the 49ers due to the injuries that they have been dealing all season long. They went into this game without DE Nick Bosa, OL Trent Williams, OL Aaron Banks and CB Deommodore Lenoir. Having Bosa and Lenoir out there may have had changed the perspective on how the Bills’ offense would have performed, however we will never know now.

Josh Allen continued his dominance of his MVP run this season. Not only did he break Jim Kelly’s record for the most touchdowns of all-time in franchise history, Allen also became the fifth player (and first quarterback) since 1970 to throw, catch and run for a touchdown all in one game.

Without Allen putting on the Superman cape in this game, who knows how this game could have turned out. Luckily, we don’t need to know as the Bills completely made the nights for their fans going into next week.

After the game, left tackle Dion Dawkins who has been Allen’s blindside blocker since 2018 commented on Allen’s MVP chances after this performance. Per Thad Brown, the Pro Bowl left tackle believes that Josh Allen has “sealed it”. Dawkins talked about how we have been “playing around” with the MVP talk and that it is Allen’s time to be named the NFL MVP.

Josh Allen is on his way to winning his first MVP of his career

Since 2020, Josh Allen is continuously in the MVP conversation yet he has never won it. He’s been the runner-up, been never the winner. There is an argument that this season is Allen’s best season due to the fact that he has cleaned up his turnover tendencies and he is playing smart football, both on the ground and through the air.

With five games remaining in the regular season, Allen is more focused on getting the Bills a run at the Super Bowl, but he very well deserves the MVP award.
