We are just one more day away from seeing the Buffalo Bills squaring off against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In what could easily be the best game of the weekend, both teams are out to prove something.
Jacksonville is a red hot team that is looking to continue their momentum. The Bills are looking to finally go all the way without having to worry about running into Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. There are plenty of Bills doubters, but maybe that’s what Buffalo needs. For quite some time now, they have been the favorites. Now they are on the road in the first round for the first time since 2019-2020.
Make no mistake about it, the Jaguars are a tough matchup for the Bills. Then again, Jacksonville should not want to face Buffalo either.
With Buffalo, they have to come out of the gates and never let off the gas petal. There have been too many times where the Bills got off to a slow start and then had to make a comeback. Rather than going that route, the Bills need to utilize their most trusted guys for Josh Allen and never let up.
One of those guys that Allen looks towards to a lot is tight end Dawson Knox, who is on the verge of tying NFL history in this game.
TE Dawson Knox set up to tie playoff history
According to the Buffalo Bills’ PR team, if Knox gets one receiving touchdown, he will tie both Dave Casper and Vernon Davis for the third-most receiving touchdowns by a tight end in playoff history. Casper and Davis both currently have seven touchdowns.
If Knox can tie, or even pass both Casper and Davis, he will then only trail Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce.
When the Bills get in those redzone situations, Allen is going to look for Knox. They have a great connection and Allen trusts him. Knox tying the record seems very likely, but maybe he can pass both Casper and Davis to move into third place on that all-time playoff list.
