Buffalo Bills fans were hoping that Davante Adams would end up catching passes from Josh Allen for the rest of the 2024 season but the New York Jets won out. Adams was traded to New York roughly a month ago and absolutely nothing changed for Adams or the Jets.
Before Adams was traded, he was on a bad team and he's still on a bad team. Not only that, but he's only tallied 69 more yards in New York than he had in Las Vegas before the trade and he only has one touchdown, matching what he had in Sin City.
More Bills news:
Even with the poor performance from the Jets as a whole, Adams claimed that he regrets nothing. He talked about this during his most recent appearance on Up & Adams, noting that he doesn't live with regrets and he's still happy that he gets to play with Aaron Rodgers.
"No, I don't live my life like that. You'll drive yourself crazy, you know. Hindsight's always 20/20 so you can sit and look at it now and say 'Oh I maybe could've stayed there and been more comfortable and not had to move' and all that stuff but for me, it's about going with my gut in my life," Adams said, "It's not really a gamble in this situation. It's almost like an influence. We're talking about playing with Aaron Rodgers here. This isn't like taking some crazy gamble with some rookie that's unproven."
Bills fans should be skeptical about Davante Adams' latest comments
Since Adams arrived in New York, the Jets have won only one game and sit at 3-8 on the year. Their playoff hopes are dashed and this is a team that people were saying not only had playoff aspirations but Super Bowl aspirations as too. These same people were already crowning the Jets as AFC East champions while throwing the Bills to the side like a piece of garbage.
The Bills proved everyone wrong and also added their own receiver at the deadline in Amari Cooper, who already has matched the number of touchdowns in Buffalo that Adams has in New York. Cooper has played in two fewer games than Adams has too, making that stat even funnier.
Adams can say what he wants about playing with Rodgers and the Jets but you have to think he is kicking himself for not getting traded to Buffalo where he could be on a playoff team and catching more than one touchdown in five games. Bills fans find it pretty funny though, that's for sure.
