When news broke that the Buffalo Bills were planning to trade for wide receiver D.J. Moore back in March, it was the start of the roster revamp the Bills were doing. Going from Sean McDermott to Joe Brady, the Bills have already started looking different both coaching and roster wise.

The trade for Moore cost the Bills a second round pick which caused a good amount of outburst from the NFL, saying that it was an overpay. Well, the Bills got a second round pick in the end during the NFL Draft after multiple trade downs in the first round. Not to mention, the pairing of Moore and the Bills is perfect.

Moore not only reunites with Joe Brady from their days with the Carolina Panthers, but he also gets Josh Allen as his quarterback. On the other hand, Allen gets his No. 1 wideout that he has been missing since Stefon Diggs.

Working with Brady back in Carolina from 2020-2021, Moore recorded back-to-back 1,100+ yard seasons to go with 8 receiving touchdowns in that span. Now, Moore gets the chance to be the No. 1 receiver in this offense that is not afraid to pass the ball.

D.J. Moore makes it clear what the main goal is right now for chemistry with Josh Allen

The Bills participated in OTAs yesterday and Matthew Bove from WKBW had the chance to talk with Moore after practice, and Moore talked about how “the main focus right now is simply trying to get on the same page with Josh Allen.”

Bills fans are hoping that the combo of Allen and Moore lights up the league, just like the combo of Allen Diggs did earlier this decade. However, no matter how talented players are, they have to be able to work with each other and understand what works and what doesn’t work.

The quarterback/wide receiver combo can make or break an offense. It’s about understanding the other’s strengths and weaknesses, and consistently reiterating practice to keep the motions up to par.

Moore saying that the main focus is to just get on the same page with Allen in May is the perfect start. There’s no need to be perfect right now, that’s what the regular season is for. Now granted, there are going to be screw ups and things won’t always be perfect.

However, time is running out on Josh Allen’s prime. While he can still deliver those jaw-dropping plays, he won’t be able to do it forever. Buffalo has to take advantage of having the best quarterback in the league and not just make, but win the Super Bowl. The addition of Moore is giving fans hope of something big for 2026, but he and Allen have to click on the field now so that great results can be delivered during the season.
