The Buffalo Bills have seen a lot of change this season, as we'll see it in training camp. That's especially true for the wide receiver position, where new faces will be lining up just about everywhere.

There's little debate about who starts as the 'WR1'; Buffalo traded for D.J. Moore and intends to use him. The slot position is also solved, as Khalil Shakir returns to claim his earned role. The lone WR spot that's up for grabs is the WR2, playing on the opposite boundary from D.J. Moore in the depth chart. The stage is set for a thrilling training camp battle.

The WR2 battle at Bills training camp

The cast of this gladiatorial showdown is a spectacular one. Both new and old faces will play notable snaps, but who takes the cake? From new daft picks, to veteran additions, to project players, there's plenty to look at.

Joshua Palmer heads off the bunch. His time spent on the L.A. Chargers shows quite a pedigree, but he was disappointing last season after being injured early in the year. Still, Palmer offers a solid range of ability, from long speed to the power and frame needed as a blocker.

He's the most refined and experienced player in this group, and an immediate frontrunner for the early training camp snaps. His veteran status gives him that right, but he'll need to prove he deserves the role.

Up next is Keon Coleman, the epicentre of last season's dramatics. Coleman is a fine player, but hasn't fit in with the Bills offense, despite his elite set of tools. He has yet to back up his expectations as an impact player. After being benched for disciplinary reasons multiple times in 2025, the promise of a larger role from now-head coach Joe Brady is the only thing that kept him on the team. If Brady means what he says, Coleman will get his chance this season.

The final competitor in this three-man race is 4th-round pick Skyler Bell. Bell offers something different to his competition; A contrasting height and weight class. Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer are both imposing physical players, but Bell sits at 5'11 and 192lbs.

He can win the job outright, but whether or not he gets a fair shake depends on Joe Brady's commitment to size on the boundary in his new-look offense. With no question answered yet, Skyler Bell rounds out a tough competition at WR2
