Another NFL season has come and gone, but no need to worry, the Buffalo Bills are going to be playing playoff football next weekend. All that they have to do is get through the next four quarters against the New England Patriots. No matter what happens today, the Bills are the #2 seed. However, if the Patriots lose today, they will lock up the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Writing the word “Patriots” and No. 1 overall pick” sure does sound weird…however that’s where the Patriots are currently at in their franchise. The good news for them, and potentially bad news for the rest of the AFC East is that they have a promising franchise quarterback in Drake Maye…for now.

These teams faced off against each other two weeks ago and the Bills escaped with a 24-21, but they found themselves down 14-0 at one point. One of the biggest differences between this game and two weeks ago is that the Patriots more than likely won’t see the starters for Buffalo. Sean McDermott did say that Josh Allen will start this game, but only to keep his start streak alive, then he will be pulled quickly.

What should Bills fans be on the lookout for?

With the Bills’ backups getting their shot against the Patriots this Sunday, it will feel more like a preseason game. The biggest thing that the Bills fans need to hope that happens is that everyone leaves the game healthy. Buffalo doesn’t need any injuries the week before the playoffs start, whether it’s a starter or a backup.

Bills Mafia should also be on the lookout for players that could be in contention for a roster spot in the playoffs, or even next season as well. The biggest name that stands out is linebacker Joe Andreessen. The local Buffalo kid led the Bills in tackles last week against the Jets despite only playing for a quarter.

In addition to Andreessen, wide receiver Tyrell Shavers made his presence known last week with a 69- yard touchdown catch from Mitch Trubisky. Hopefully Shavers finds himself in position to keep making plays and shows the coaching staff that he has earned a shot at a roster spot for the postseason.

Kickoff from Foxborough is scheduled for 1PM, where the Buffalo Bills are looking to complete their sweep of the AFC East for the second time since 2020.
