Bills vs. Jets final inactives list: James Cook, Ed Oliver ruled out for Buffalo
By Brandon Ray
Monday Night Football is here Bills Mafia! After a disastrous two weeks for the Bills, they will be looking to bounce back in primetime against their division rival, the New York Jets. Sean McDermott and Josh Allen have a lot to prove after last week’s performance against the Houston Texans. McDermott was heavily criticized for his game management at the end of regulation, and Allen made the wrong kind of history by completing only 30% of his passes.
Nonetheless, it’s a new week and the main goal is to go 1-0. We already learned earlier in the week that defensive tackle Ed Oliver would miss his second straight game due to a hamstring injury. On the other side of the field, the Jets found out that they would not have cornerback Michael Carter II for this game. In addition, linebacker C.J. Mosely was listed as questionable for the Jets defense as well.
As for the Bills, they are getting back one of their offensive playmakers back in Khalil Shakir who missed last week with an ankle injury, per Ajay Cybulski. One of Buffalo’s themes this season is losing players to injury each week. Whether it was Matt Milano before the start of the season, Taron Johnson in Week 1, or Terrel Bernard in Week 2, they just can’t seem to catch a break whatsoever.
One of the main goals that McDermott should have for this primetime game is to get out as healthy as possible. The final inactives list for both the Bills and Jets was released at 6:45pm ET and we take a look at them to see who will not be suiting up.
Bills inactives list for Week 6:
-DT Ed Oliver
-RB James Cook
-S Mike Edwards
-LB Joe Andreessen
-LB Edefuan Ulofoshio

After there being hope for James Cook to play, the Bills are opting to sideline him this week with a toe injury. Running back Frank Gore Jr. was elevated from the practice squad and will join Ray Davis and former Jet Ty Johnson in the backfield.
Jets inactives list for Week 6:
-OL Carter Warren
