Well, if there was any doubt from Buffalo Bills fans that this might be the year of destiny, the ending of the first half between the Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars might've just sealed that deal.
After a wildly sloppy first half between the two squads in their AFC Wild Card showdown, the Bills had two timeouts remaining and their defense on the field ready to stop the Jaguars from getting within a comfortable position for Cam Little to hit a field goal to end the half.
They mostly did their job, getting Parker Washington down around the middle of the field, leading to a rush from Jacksonville's offense to get set for a snap. They didn't seem to get set as the clock hit zero on the half, but of course, the refs decided it'd be the perfect time for a meeting that took up quite a bit of time.
Bills benefit majorly from perfect "ball don't lie" moment
In the end, they decided that Jacksonville did get the snap off, which meant Little could come on to attempt the field goal. Watching the snap over and over again, it was obvious that Trevor Lawrence didn't get the snap off in time. Yet, the refs decided he did.
It didn't matter. Little, who has hit booming field goals this season and taken over the record book on field goals, missed just left. Ball doesn't lie, and that golden rule applied heavily to the Bills in that moment.

Little's miss means that the Bills are headed into the second half with the lead, despite a very rough game from their running back room and Josh Allen looking completely banged up on every play. But, this was written in the cards. There's no way you can call something as egregious as defensive offsides on that play, when it's clear the Jaguars didn't even get the ball snapped in time, anyway.
No matter. Buffalo is looking to muck this game up in a huge way. Get Lawrence on his heels. Get Jacksonville's defense scrambled just enough to allow death by a thousand cuts from Allen and some short yardage plays. It's going to be necessary to keep fighting in the mud in this contest for the Bills, especially with all the injuries they're dealing with on offense.
