Bills' next draft selection to kick off Day 3 is painfully obvious

Don't overthink it.

The Buffalo Bills are set to start off the final day of the NFL Draft in which Rounds 4-7 will be completed. Buffalo’s first round went in an interesting direction as they traded back three times which eventually led them to trading out completely. With those three trades, the Bills managed to gain two additional draft picks and they kicked off their draft with the 35th overall pick.

With the 35th pick, the Bills selected Clemson EDGE T.J. Parker, which was a solid pick to add to Jim Leonhard’s defense. The Bills were then set to pick in the third round at No. 66 before trading up to the end of the second round at No. 62 to select Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun. This pick had mixed emotions because of the position and when the pick was spent.

You could make the argument for both sides for the Igbinosun pick, but either way, he’s on his way to Buffalo. Barring a trade, the Bills will kick off Round 4 with the 101st pick and their next selection should be as clear as day.

Bills' next draft selection should not be tough decision

The Bills have drafted defense only so far, and rightfully so. They have holes that they need to fill, but the offense also needs help as well. Specifically, Buffalo should be looking to upgrade the wide receiver room. The first player that Buffalo should be looking to take with the first pick in the 4th round is UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell.

The Bills trading for D.J. Moore this offseason gives the offense a true No. 1 receiver for Josh Allen. They also have Khalil Shakir in the slot, and both Joshua Palmer and Keon Coleman but they have not been impressive for the Bills.

Drafting Bell would give the Bills a new dynamic to their passing attack. He brings great speed and has the ability to line up on the inside and outside. Essentially, Joe Brady would be able to place him wherever he needs him. The versatility factor is something that Buffalo shouldn’t be ignoring.

Bell has improved the last two seasons at UConn and then his final year there, he took a massive leap forward in production with 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns off of 101 catches. Getting him with the first pick in the 4th round is an absolute must for the Bills.

Let’s not forget, the Bills have two other 4th round picks (Nos. 125 & 126). With Buffalo starting off their draft class on defense, it’s time to give Josh Allen another weapon and who knows if Bell will be available by the time No. 125 comes around.
