It’s officially 2026 and that means that the regular season in the NFL is about to end. Luckily for the Buffalo Bills, their season will continue on for atleast one more week. They will be on the road in the first round of the playoffs, but we won’t know what seed they will be until after their 4:25PM Sunday game against the Jets.

This Bills team feels different than last year’s, but there are a lot of similarities. One thing that has really stood out for the worst is the production from the wide receivers. Last season was Buffalo’s first season since 2019 without having a true No. 1 wideout. For the longest time, it was Stefon Diggs.

With Josh Allen playing like the true MVP last year, the lack of production from the wide receivers was overlooked and the Bills thought that they could run it back with the same personnel. Well, that has come back to haunt them this season many times.

The receivers don’t get any separation and because they don’t, Josh Allen has to either look for a spectacular play or gets sacked. That can’t be the case moving forward after this season.

Fans are hoping Bills will deliver listed New Year's resolution

Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone listed one New Year’s resolution for each team in 2026 and the Bills couldn’t have a more obvious one. Scataglia has the Bills finding “a legitimate WR1”.

"Keon Coleman has not been that guy for the Buffalo Bills, so GM Brandon Beane, or whoever is in charge, needs to pursue a WR1 at all costs, whether it's via trade or in the NFL Draft."
Lou Scataglia, NFL Spin Zone

Scataglia is right about Keon Coleman…he’s not the next WR1 for the Bills. With him being a healthy scratch four times since Week 11, Buffalo must admit that they made a mistake and find a way to correct it.

While the Bills are very much about development within, they have taken swings before. In 2020, they traded a haul for Stefon Diggs from the Minnesota Vikings. Last season, they traded for Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns. Brandon Beane is not afraid to take a chance, so in 2026, Bills fans are hoping that he can bring in a legitimate No. 1 wideout for Josh Allen.
