Coming into this game against the New York Jets, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills should have had two goals; lock up the #2 seed in the AFC and come out of this game healthy. They managed to complete both challenges in a completely dominant fashion on Sunday afternoon.

After struggling against the New England Patriots last week, the Bills bounced back with a complete beatdown of the Jets, winning 40-14. With this win, Buffalo is officially the #2 seed in the AFC playoff picture and are guaranteed to stay at home throughout the playoffs unless they have to travel to Kansas City.

The Bills now have a decision to make for Week 18 when they travel to New England on whether or not they should have their starters play for a drive or two, or not even dress for the game. Either way, next week’s game against the Patriots is pointless for the Bills.

Buffalo Bills dominated from start to finish against NY Jets

Another week, another time talking about how great Josh Allen is for Bills Mafia. Not only did he tie Thurman Thomas for the most rushing touchdowns in Bills’ history (65), but Allen also became the first player in NFL history to record 40+ touchdowns in five consecutive seasons. His 40th total touchdown came off of a 30-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper, who has been quiet for the most part since arriving to Buffalo.

In addition to Cooper, rookie wideout Keon Coleman also snagged his first touchdown catch since Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks. Running back James Cook also scored his 15th rushing touchdown of the year which currently leads all running backs in the league.

The Bills’ defense showed up and showed out against Aaron Rodgers. They managed to sack him four times and picked him off twice, one of them by defensive tackle Jordan Phillips who caught a tipped ball that was caused by Greg Rousseau. It got so bad for Rodgers that the Jets pulled him in the fourth quarter and replaced him with former Bills quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, who helped the Jets score their first touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter.

This is a great bounce back game for the Bills after barely beating the Drake Maye-led Patriots last week. Now Buffalo will close out their regular season at Gillette Stadium next week against the Patriots. In addition to next week’s game, Buffalo will find out who they will host in the wild card round once all the games are completed.
