The Buffalo Bills will once again be contenders in 2026, thanks in large part to one of the game’s best offenses that should be even better than it was last season. They will face their share of challenges thanks to one of the toughest schedules in the NFL, however.

While they will face a ton of talented players on the field, the Bills will also face most of the best coaches in the league as well. Andy Reid, Jim Harbaugh, Dan Campbell, Mike Vrabel, Sean Payton, Matt LaFleur, and Sean McVay are all standing on the opposing sidelines this coming season.

Are there any coaches that Bills fans should feel good about going up against? As it turns out, there are three names that won’t be instilling a lot of confidence in their fan bases when they go up against the Bills.

Bottom 3 head coaches the Bills will face in 2026

3.) Las Vegas Raiders – Klint Kubiak

It feels unfair to say that Kubiak is one of the worst coaches that the Bills will face this season. If anything, he’s one of the unknowns, one of two first-year coaches the Bills will have on their schedule.

He was a brilliant play-caller with the Seattle Seahawks last season, and one of the top coordinators on the market. He is also inheriting more talent with the Raiders than the franchise has had in a few years. If he can get them within screaming distance of the playoffs, it will be an impressive debut.

2.) Miami Dolphins – Jeff Hafley

As is the case with Kubiak, it’s hard to really know what kind of coach Hafley is because this is his first stint. Hafley spent time as the defensive coordinator under LaFleur with the Packers and now takes on one of the worst situations in the league.

He also walks into one of the least talented situations in the league right now. This first season almost certainly won’t be indicative of the kind of coach Hafley is. Then again, if he can get something resembling decent out of this group, it will elevate Hafley in no time.

1.) Aaron Glenn – New York Jets

The Jets were terrible in 2025, an already thin roster depleted by injuries. Glenn also didn't produce well, often saying things that didn’t sound quite right in the moment. Things were so bad, it was thought that he might not be back.

He is back, however, and the Jets are set to be one of the league’s worst teams once again. If he can’t get the group to show some upward momentum, it may be the last time we see Glenn on the Jets sidelines.

Not many “bad” coaches left

It was a stretch to even get that many names on the list, and the Bills will face a ton of experienced, quality coaches. Their defense is going to be challenged to show that it is better than it was a season ago, and the team will have its work cut out for itself.

Head coach Joe Brady will have to prove that he belongs with the long list of top-tier coaches listed above. If he can, it should help the Bills finally elevate themselves and get over the Super Bowl hump.
