Miraculously, the ball found its way into the arms of tight end Dalton Kincaid.
But this was no miracle in Arrowhead. The ball bounced off Kincaid's arms and fell harmlessly incomplete, forcing a turnover on downs. That play would be the final time a Bills player touched the football this season as Kansas City would hold on to win 32-29.
Kincaid took full accountability for the drop when speaking to reporters after the game. The former first-round pick agreed the play "should be a catch" before insisting this was an opportunity to grow moving forward.
There was no sugarcoating it, however. Kincaid is devastated — as is the entire Bills fan base. This loss cuts deep, and the pain won’t fade anytime soon.

While the drop will likely be remembered as the play that ended the Bills' season, it should be noted that this was no ordinary catch. Kincaid was forced to dive back toward Allen to attempt what would have been an excellent grab.
Is it a ball that should have been caught? Probably, yes. But the situation unfortunately amplifies the moment. The missed opportunity wasn’t just a drop — it was a crushing blow to their season, one that will echo in the hearts of fans for a long time.
Allen's superhuman heroics just prior to the drop make it look even worse. Allen evaded multiple Chiefs defenders, heaved up a pass off his back foot, and somehow found Kincaid in between Chiefs down the field. Kincaid just couldn't complete the miracle.
And with that, the Bills' season comes to a devastating end. Allen's MVP-caliber performance and his playoff heroics now feel meaningless, overshadowed by a single missed opportunity.
Give Kincaid credit for standing up and facing the media despite what must have been one of the most crushing moments of his professional career. He said all the right things after the game, but the weight of that drop will linger with him long after the cameras fade.
