B/R lists the weakest possible obstacle that Josh Allen faces in 2025

If this is his biggest obstacle, 2025 should be a lot of fun for Josh Allen.

Josh Allen has solidified himself as one of, if not the best quarterback in the league and he is on his way to becoming one of the best in the entire history of the NFL. While a lot, and I mean a lot of people didn’t believe in him, Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott did. There is a reason why they traded up for him in 2018 and it’s paid off greatly.

After a little bit of a rough first two seasons, Allen exploded into an MVP candidate and has led the Bills to becoming a true championship contender over the last five seasons. The AFC East runs through Buffalo because of the greatness of Josh Allen. He is one of the most dynamic playmakers in NFL history already and is still right in the middle of his prime.

Allen’s next biggest challenge is to get past the Kansas City Chiefs and reach the Super Bowl. Brad Gagnon from Bleacher Report listed each obstacle that is in front of each starting NFL quarterback heading into 2025, but completely missed the mark for Allen.

Gagnon put “expectations” as Allen’s biggest obstacle. Here is what Gagnon said about Allen and the Bills:

"Allen is an MVP now, and his Bills are favored to win every game. If he can't finally get to a Super Bowl in 2025, he will begin to take heat. "

Josh Allen's biggest obstacle is his own defense in 2025

Expectations? No, not at all. Allen has no issues exceeding expectations, especially when it comes to the playoffs. When you’ve scored 32 total touchdowns and have had just 4 turnovers, while having a passer rating of 101.7, living up to expectations is not the issue.

Instead, Allen’s biggest obstacle much like every other season is depending on his defense to do their jobs.

Buffalo’s defense has been the reason why the Bills’ seasons have ended in heartbreak. There’s a reason why Brandon Beane made his priority this offseason to build up the defense. It has nothing to do with the offense or Josh Allen. The defense is what will either make or break Buffalo’s season in 2025.

There is not a consistent pass rush up front, and injuries hit the secondary often. The Bills have no problem lighting up the scoreboard on offense. They just can’t seem to stop opponents from doing the same thing, which makes life hard for Allen.
