B/R heavily disrespects Bills in latest Week 12 power rankings
By Brandon Ray
The Buffalo Bills made the biggest statement win of the season by knocking off the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11. Coming in at 9-0, the Chiefs weren’t exactly the most dominant undefeated team, but they remained unbeaten for many reasons. This past Sunday, that unbeaten streak came to an end when the Bills continued their regular season dominance of the Chiefs, winning 30-21.
It’s the fifth consecutive game for the Bills scoring 30+ points and they are the first team to put up 30 points on the Chiefs this year. There was one play that separated the Bills and the Chiefs in this matchup, and that was Josh Allen’s 26-yard touchdown run on 4th and 2 just outside the two-minute warning that put the nail on the coffin for the Chiefs.
While the Bills are still behind the Chiefs in the conference standings (because the Bills are finally on their bye week), they own the tiebreaker against Kansas City heading into the playoffs. If Buffalo and Kansas City have the same record at the end of Week 18, the Bills will get the home field advantage over the Chiefs.
Buffalo is feeling great with a 9-2 record and now they head into their bye week before their Week 13 matchup against the San Francsico 49ers. Most fans and analysts were shown how great the Bills were on Sunday, but the latest Bleacher Report power rankings doesn’t.
Bleacher Report NFL Staff consisting of writers Gary Davenport, Kristopher Knox, Maurice Moton, and Brent Sobleski created the Week 12 power rankings for all NFL teams and the Bills didn’t move one single spot and are still behind the Chiefs. Please make that make sense.
Buffalo Bills should be ranked above the Kansas City Chiefs
"After a two-score win over the reigning champions, Buffalo is the team to beat in the AFC. Without starting tight end Dalton Kincaid and upstart rookie wideout Keon Coleman, the Bills knocked off the Chiefs, who came into Week 11 undefeated.
- Maurice Moton, Bleacher Report
Though the Chiefs have had the Bills' number in January, Buffalo should feel confident about another meeting with Kansas City in the playoffs."
The Bills finished at No. 3 behind the Chiefs and Detroit Lions, and to have them behind the team they just defeated is flat out wrong.
Moton clearly states that the Bills are the team beat in the AFC. Even without pass catchers Dalton Kincaid and Keon Coleman, the Bills stll managed to put up 30 points and not only beat the Chiefs, but beat them by two scores.
Power rankings don’t determine how great a team is because fans truly know how teams are based on what they put on the field. Putting the Lions ahead of the Bills? Sure, that makes sense…for now. However, keeping the Chiefs above the Bills is just flat out incorrect.
