With the opening Sunday Night Football kickoff now less than two weeks away, Bills football is right around the corner. Here are five reasons why Buffalo Bills fans should be thrilled going into the 2025 season.
Bills fans should be super excited for 2025 season
1. We get to watch prime Josh Allen again
Not many teams in the NFL are luckier than the Bills, who get to watch a superstar QB in his prime for another year. Allen, fresh off winning his first MVP award, is in the primetime of his career. Bills fans will soon get to witness more touchdowns, more huge passes and more legendary scrambles from Allen.
2. The Chiefs are finally beatable
For the past few years, it has certainly felt like Kansas City is an unstoppable force. The Bills have had plenty of attempts to take them down in the postseason, but have gone down in close games every time.
Now, the Eagles have finally taken down the Chiefs, and the winds of the NFL might be shifting. Travis Kelce is engaged now, and retirement is on his horizon. Patrick Mahomes looks less like an MVP and more like a solid game manager. And now that the Chiefs have lost in the Super Bowl, the Bills might have the formula to beat them in the playoffs, too.
3. James Cook is back and locked up
He's been excellent for the Bills, with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and 24 touchdowns over the past two years. Now, James Cook is locked in on a long-term extension. If Cook stays healthy, he's one of the best running backs in the NFL and has the potential to change any game he's playing in. If that doesn't get Bills fans hyped, nothing will.
4. Weeks 2-8 sets the Bills up perfectly
Buffalo will be hosting Baltimore in Week 1 in what will be a difficult season opener. After that, they have a soft start to the season. From Weeks 2-8, the Bills play the Jets, Dolphins, Saints, Patriots, Falcons and Panthers, all teams that went below .500 in 2024-25. There's a real chance the Bills could enter Week 9 against the Chiefs with a record of 5-2, 6-1, or even 7-0, depending on whether they can take down the Ravens in Week 1.
5. A healthy Joey Bosa could be a game changer in Buffalo
Joey Bosa did not play at his best level in 2024, but still finished the season with five sacks, two forced fumbles and 13 quarterback hits. He's only started 18 games in the past three years, but if Bosa can stay healthy, he still has the potential to be a game-changer. He's a five-time pro-bowler with over 70 career sacks to his name.
