Going back to last season, one player that has worked hard and impressed Bills fans was wide receiver Tyrell Shavers. He made a great impression in training camp last year, but did not make the final roster after a quiet preseason.
However, he happened to make a regular season appearance last year in Week 17 against the Jets. He took advantage of that opportunity by taking a behind-the-line of scrimmage pass 69 yards to the house for a Bills touchdown.
After a strong training camp and preseason, Shavers has officially earned a roster spot on the final 53-man roster going into the regular season, per Alaina Getzenberg.

WR Tyrell Shavers rightfully deserved roster spot with Bills
The former undrafted free agent has shined with the Bills over the past year and has now been rewarded with a roster spot. Offensive coordinator Joey Brady now has a receiver who can line up inside or outside the numbers on offense. Shavers proved that he can create separation and make some impressive catches.
In the Bills’ final preseason game, Shavers had a fantastic one-handed touchdown reception that was the final point he needed to prove that he was worth a roster spot.
Shavers might be on special teams more than on offense, but don’t think that he won’t get any reps. The Bills love to rotate their players on both sides of the ball so fans could see Shavers make some sort of impact sooner than later.
Now that Shavers has rightfully earned a roster spot with the Bills, he will need to show that he deserves a spot on gameday rather than being on the inactive list. Shavers’ success towards getting a roster spot is a lot like Joe Andreessen’s journey, a Buffalo native who signed as an undrafted free agent last year and made the final 53-man roster.
