4 winners in Buffalo Bills dominating Week 7 victory vs. Titans
By Brandon Ray
After a rough first half, the Buffalo Bills massively turned things around in the second half to dominate the Tennessee Titans. The Bills went down 10-0 in the second quarter, and would then score 34 unanswered points to get a 34-10 victory to move to 5-2. The Bills showed that the only thing that matters is how you finish.
Mason Rudolph looked like a solid starter in the first half, but then fell apart to the hands of the Buffalo defense. Josh Allen on the other hand had a second-half performance that keeps him on the MVP track this year.
The Bills had four players who stood out in this game for them that helped them get their fifth win of the season. The impact that they made either helped gain or keep momentum for them.
The Buffalo Bills had 4 winners in Week 7
WR Keon Coleman
The rookie had his breakout game against the Titans. Keon Coleman not only led the Bills in receiving yards, he was the first Bills receiver this year to reach 100+ receiving yards this year, per Thad Brown. Off of seven targets, Coleman had 4 receptions for 125 yards. He almost had a touchdown but was literally a toe too much out of bounds.
He made some impressive catches and on a simple dump pass to him late in the fourth quarter, Coleman took it 57 yards that eventually set up a Ray Davis rushing touchdown.
Coleman stands out the most in this game for the Bills and he will look to keep growing off of this performance.
DE Greg Rousseau
After weeks of being quiet, Greg Rousseau was all over the Titans offense. Not only did he get 0.5 sacks, he had six total QB hits on Mason Rudolph. Even if he didn’t make a play, he seemed to always be near it. It has been a little bit of a rough stretch for Rousseau but this game really made the front office notice him as he is looking to get paid sooner than later.
K Tyler Bass
If there was one Bill who had a ton of pressure on him coming into this game, it was Tyler Bass. With recent struggles, the Bills went out and signed kicker Lucas Havrisik to the practice squad. Even though it is financially impossible to get rid of Bass, putting a little bit of pressure on him doesn’t hurt. He responded well against the Titans.
Bass didn’t miss a single kick in this game, going 4/4 on PATs and 2/2 on field goal attempts. While there will still be a little bit of nervousness when Bass goes onto the field, there is some confidence in him after this outing.
WR Amari Cooper
There is no way that Amari Cooper isn’t on this list. It hasn’t even been a week since he arrived in Buffalo and he instantly made an impact against Tennessee. While he did drop his first pass on the third play of the game, he made up for it by reeling in 4 catches for 66 yards, including his first catch that was a touchdown pass that put the Bills ahead of the Titans.
Cooper also had an impressive catch behind the shoulder where it looked like Allen threw it behind him but Cooper managed to recover it. The newest Bill showed fans a preview of what is to come for this season. If he was able to have this kind of production in less than a week of learning the offense, who knows how much more he will have as he continues to learn the offense.
