Josh Allen's second-half performance vs. Titans keeps him on MVP track

It was a boring first half for the Buffalo Bills. However, they proved that it doesn’t matter how you start, it only matters how you finish. The Bills went down 10-0 almost midway through the second quarter and it seemed like they had to answer for Tennessee’s defense. In addition, Buffalo’s defense didn’t seem to make the adjustments for Mason Rudolph.

At one point, it looked like that the Titans were going to be pulling off the upset against the Bills. Josh Allen at one point was 4/11 for only 65 yards and was being outdueled by Rudolph. However, second-half Josh Allen activated and the Bills overall showed the Titans why they are a 1-4 team.

Allen led the Bills to 34 unanswered points and the Bills’ offense exploded in the second half. He himself went from looking like he was going to be a bottom tier quarterback this week, to throwing for 323 yards and two touchdowns, one of them going to his newest receiver in Amari Cooper. He ended up completing 64% of his passes as well.

This was Allen’s first game throwing for over 300+ yards and it took place against one of the NFL’s top defensive units coming into Week 7. This was the first game this year where the rushing attack wasn’t much help. The Bills only rushed for 74 yards, but with the way the Bills were able to get the ball through the air, there was no need to try to force the run.

Allen has slowly started turning things around for the better after a two-week stretch where he looked awful against the Ravens and Texans. Since then, he has looked beyond impressive against two top defensive units in the Jets and Titans.

He was truly Superman in this game and his second-half performance is what not only got the Bills a win, but also got them a blowout victory. Buffalo moves to 5-2 on the year and will hit the road again next week for a cross-country trip to Seattle to take on the Seahawks.
