Throughout the first week of the free agency period, we have all kinds of wild moves happen. There have been some massive questionable contracts given out, trades have occurred, and there was even madness before free agency officially started when the Baltimore Ravens decided to back out of the Maxx Crosby trade.
The Buffalo Bills haven’t made a bunch of signings, but they have made some impactful ones. They are revamping their defense and they also acquired a true No. 1 target in D.J. Moore to give to Josh Allen. However, coming into the new league year, they didn’t have a ton of money to make any kind of huge free agency splash.
They did make some moves though to open up some cap room and they were able to get someone like Bradley Chubb on a three-year deal.
When you look at how free agency and how it has played out so far, there are some notable players that switched teams that the Bills are now set to face in 2026.Â
4 big time players who switched teams that Bills will face in 2026
EDGE Trey Hendrickson - Baltimore Ravens
When the whole Maxx Crosby-Ravens trade fell apart, there was a lot of speculation that the Ravens would all of a sudden enter the Trey Hendrickson sweepstakes, and they did and ultimately gained his services by giving him a four-year deal worth $112 million.
Jeremy Fowler had reported that the Bills were one of the teams in on Hendrickson, but Baltimore’s offer put it over the top to gain Hendrickson. Now, the Bills will take on Hendrickson when the Ravens come to Baltimore next season.
C Tyler Linderbaum - Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders had a ton of money going into free agency and they for sure spent a lot to gain talent. Aside from getting Maxx Crosby back due to Baltimore backing out of the trade, Las Vegas’ biggest acquisition by far was signing center Tyler Linderbaum to a massive three-year deal with $81 million where he gets $27 million per year.
That is a ton of money to invest into a non-quarterback, but Linderbaum is by far one of the best centers in the league and the Raiders now have their anchor of the offensive line for the future. The Bills travel to Las Vegas in 2026 so they will go up against Linderbaum.
RB Kenneth Walker III - Kansas City Chiefs
The MVP of Super Bowl 60 left the Seattle Seahawks and now joins one of Buffalo's biggest bitter rivals in the Kansas City Chiefs. Running back Kenneth Walker signed with the Chiefs on a three-year deal where he gets over $43 million to give Kansas City more stability in their rushing attack.
Walker has been part of a committee in Seattle, but was beyond impressive with Seattle last season and now the Bills will have to gameplan for him when the Chiefs come to Buffalo.
S Kevin Byard - New England Patriots
Within the AFC East, the Patriots were busy bringing in talent but one of their more overlooked signings was Kevin Byard, who has been one of the league’s best safeties for quite some time. He joins New England from Chicago and the backend of the defense for New England gets a fantastic veteran who is still playing at a high level. Byard will give the Bills’ offense trouble for sure both against the pass and the run.
