Please do not allow any of these to happen...

The biggest game of the year for the Buffalo Bills is set to take place tomorrow in Kansas City, with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. Not many people expected the Bills to be one of the two remaining AFC teams left, but here we are. Bills Mafia has poured their passion into this team and they are delivering in the best way possible. Up next is to take down the back-to-back defending champs and head down to New Orleans.

The ultimate hope is that when the clock strikes midnight on the gameclock, the Bills are crowned as AFC champions and they celebrate on the Chiefs’ home field. Now imagine that feeling, Bills fans…

At the same time, with all of the hope that there is, there is also a lot of bad things that could happen. Every season, we see teams get affected with either injuries, bad plays, or even bad coaching that ultimately keeps them from advancing. The Bills are no strangers to these kinds of scenarios. We’ve seen the “13 seconds” happen and we have seen Buffalo having to play backups against starters because of multiple injuries.

No matter how much we want to keep the positive vibes up in the air, it’s important to realize all the bad that could happen that could cost the Bills yet another game against the Chiefs in the postseason. Here are four nightmare scenarios for the Bills for their matchup against the Chiefs in the conference championship.

Von Miller is silent throughout the game

Buffalo signed Von Miller to be the closer for games just like this one. However, the Bills haven’t been back in this spotlight since 2021 and Miller hasn’t delivered whatsoever ever since he tore his ACL back in 2022. Compared to last year, Miller has significantly improved his production and his pass rush.

This is now the game where Bills fans need to see #40 making a huge stop late in the 4th to give the Bills momentum to close out the game. Now is not the time for Miller to be completely silent from start to finish and not be noticed at all. He needs to apply continuos pressure on Patrick Mahomes and overall close out the game, if possible.

Sean McDermott makes a bad personnel decision in crunch time

It’s no secret that Sean McDermott has cost the Bills games in the past based on personnel decisions. We have seen it way too many times of McDermott coaching to not lose rather than staying aggressive for all four quarters.

The last thing Bills fans want to see is this game being defined by a bad coaching decision made by McDermott. It’s happened way too often and McDermott has to know what to do in every situation, no matter how small or big it is.

Josh Allen plays like the old Josh Allen

No matter who wins the MVP award, Bills fans know that Josh Allen deserves over Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, Saquon Barkley, and of course Lamar Jackson. However, this is the game where Allen has to play as the MVP of the game instead of the old version of himself.

Despite how great Allen has been both this season and in the playoffs throughout his career, this is just his second time in a conference championship. The pressure can come from everywhere. Even though Allen can put on his Superman cape and carry the Bills, it’s still crucial that he doesn’t try to make the big play. If he tries and it backfires, fans could look back to that play and say that was the defining play that cost the Bills this game.

Tyler Bass misses game-winning field goal

In last year’s divisional playoff game against the Chiefs, Tyler Bass had the chance to tie the Chiefs with under two minutes left in the 4th quarter. The Bills were down 27-24 and Bass could put the Bills on the board and potentially of forced overtime. Instead, he missed the kick wide right and the Bills went home early.

Bass may get the opportunity to not only correct that mistake, but even potentially win the game for the Bills if Buffalo is in that situation. If somehow and someway the Bills can kick a game-winning field goal, fans can only hope that Bass doesn’t miss it. After such a successful season, it would be absolutely devastating to see Buffalo go home early because of a missed kick that could have sent them to the Super Bowl.
