The Buffalo Bills by all means do not have the best roster at all, yet they have a lot of star players on the roster that make them a Super Bowl contender. Over the past few seasons, the Bills have managed to add and develop players who have helped elevate this team so that Josh Allen doesn’t have to do it all by himself.

At the same time, the NFL is a business and decisions are made for what front offices think are the best for the organization. Players get moved, released, and extended every single year. Fans love it, but also can’t stand it either and there are so many variables that play into it.

Heading into the 2026 season, there are four players on the Bills who could very well be showing the rest of the league what they can offer, as they could be heading into their potential last season with the Buffalo. With that, we have those four Bills players.

Bills players who could be showing what they can bring to a new team next season

WR Josh Palmer

Signing a three-year deal with the Bills in 2025, Joshua Palmer did not have the start to his tenure in Buffalo that fans were hoping for. Missing multiple games in the regular season and then being placed on the season-ending IR right before the playoffs, Palmer’s first season was one to forget. Not to mention, he didn’t even score a touchdown all season long.

Palmer enters his second season with the Bills, looking for a fresh start. Still having Joe Brady as his play caller even as the new head coach is an advantage. However, if he can’t come through going into a contract year in 2027, he may not even get the chance to finish out his deal with the Bills.

DT Ed Oliver

With a new defensive scheme coming, all players from the Sean McDermott defense that are still on the roster will be closely watched. The big name that fans should be looking out for is Ed Oliver, who missed the majority of last season due to various injuries. At one point, there was a little bit of speculation that Oliver could have been traded, but the Bills weren’t looking to move him.

Oliver hasn’t been the same player he was back in 2023 after he received his four-year extension with the Bills. He had 9.5 sacks along with 51 total tackles. His production and on-the-field presence has been up to that level. If he struggles in the new defense, he could very well be playing his last season in Buffalo.

LB Dorian Williams

Dorian Williams is the only one on this list that heads into a contract year. Drafted in the third round in 2023, Williams has actually had the chance to get some meaningful playing time due to injuries in the linebacker room involving Terrel Bernard and Matt Milano.

One of the advantages that Williams has for this season is that Buffalo didn’t add more than one linebacker through the draft in Kaleb Elarms-Orr, so his roster spot is more than likely safe. However, the Bills may have drafted his replacement. With that, Williams could very well be showing the rest of the NFL what he can bring to their organizations if Buffalo decides to let him walk.

WR Keon Coleman

Joe Brady has talked about how having Keon Coleman in the Bills offense was a priority once he was hired as the new head coach, but that’s what is being said now. If Coleman continues to struggle like he did last season which resulted in him being a healthy scratch a handful of games, what will be said then?

Coleman is only going into this third year of his rookie deal, so he could still be on the roster in 2027. However, if Coleman doesn’t live up to the expectations that the coaching staff and fans have of him going into 2026, then we might be looking at a situation where Coleman isn’t in Buffalo this time next year.
