Buffalo Bills 2023 NFL Draft Prospect to Know: Jordan Addison

The Buffalo Bills have been spending a lot of their time on the wide receivers, particularly ones that are expected to go early in the 2023 NFL Draft. One of those wide receivers is USC’s Jordan Addison, who had a visit scheduled with the Buffalo Bills according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Arms: 30 7/8″

Hands: 8 3/4″

Jordan Addison played two seasons with the University of Pittsburgh before transferring to USC last season. In his two seasons with the Panthers, Addison had 160 receptions, 2,259 receiving yards and 21 receiving touchdowns.

While his stats did decrease in his only season at USC, he was still very productive with 59 receptions, 875 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns.

"Inside/outside wideout with the speed and agility to work confidently on all three levels of the field, but lacking the size and catch strength generally associated with high-impact performers on the next level. Addison’s route running features acceleration, dynamic steering and sudden turns at a moment’s notice. While he can get to the spot effectively, he has trouble consistently winning battles when he has coverage company beside him."

How Jordan Addison fits with the Buffalo Bills

The biggest need presently for the Buffalo Bills is at slot receiver as they don’t have a clear answer at that position after releasing Isaiah McKenzie. The most likely candidates are last year’s fifth round pick Khalil Shakir and free agent signing Trent Sherfield.

However, if the Bills were to draft Addison he could step in as a rookie and make almost an immediate impact at the position.

What makes Jordan Addison an interesting pick for the Buffalo Bills is the versatility that he brings. While the team looks to be set with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis on the outside, Davis will be a free agent next offseason and this could mean Addison could move outside in 2024 and address that need. The Bills would likely not have that option if the pick is Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Zay Flowers for them in the first round.

There is not a consensus top wide receiver in this year’s class and Jordan Addison certainly is in that discussion. However, if he were to fall to the Buffalo Bills, or in a range they could trade up, this would be an excellent pick for this offense.
