Buffalo Bills free agents who could be replaced in 2023 NFL Draft: Tremaine Edmunds, LB

It was very likely the Bills were going to have to choose between either safety Jordan Poyer or linebacker Tremaine Edmunds in free agency, and it was the former who stayed in Buffalo. Now left with a void after Edmunds signed with the Chicago Bears, Buffalo has a few possibilities in replacing him.

First would be to allow 24-year-old Tyrel Dodson to take the job this coming season and see how he does. The linebacker re-signed in Buffalo on a 1-year deal this offseason with a chance to grasp that starting gig.

Otherwise, the Bills could look to the draft. There aren’t any linebackers projected to go in the first round, which means the Bills won’t have to use that first rounder on Edmunds’ replacement. In the second round, though, there are some solid names.

Dalyan Henley out of Washington State might be the best linebacker in the draft, and he’s a former wide receiver who shines in coverage, rarely missing a tackle, too. Other than Henley, Jack Campbell out of Iowa is a gritty, tough, throwback linebacker who could come in and become a heart-and-soul type of piece.

A little later, one of my favorites in the class is a mid-round diamond, Tulane’s Dorian Williams. He’s one of the best coverage linebackers in the draft, and would be a great fit.
