Grading every first round pick in the NFL Draft for the Buffalo Bills current regime
Tremaine Edmunds (2018 NFL Draft)
The Buffalo Bills would have another pick later in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and would select linebacker Tremaine Edmunds out of Virginia Tech. Tremaine Edmunds was the second youngest player ever drafted in the NFL at only 19 years and 11 months old.
However, his age didn’t stop him from making an immediate impact and he would be the starting middle linebacker his rookie season and remain the starter for all five seasons in Buffalo. He would make two Pro Bowls and have over 100 total tackles every season.
One area he struggled was in making impact plays, like sacks and turnovers, but that wasn’t a concern for the Chicago Bears who gave Edmunds a massive contract in free agency this offseason.
While the Bills couldn’t retain Edmunds, this was still a great pick and he was one of the best linebackers drafted in the first round since 2017.
