Top 2023 tight end prospects for the Buffalo Bills: Luke Musgrave, Oregon State

Luke Musgrave is another of the big tight ends coming in at 6’6″ and weighing 253 pounds.  He also recorded a solid 40-time of 4.61 at the combine.  Luke has played in 30 collegiate games; however, only 1,179 snaps due to the Covid short year of 2020 and played only two games last season due to a knee injury early in the season.

Musgrave made Bruce Feldman’s freeak list as well.

He also excelled at lacrosse and in alpine skiing. This offseason, Musgrave vertical-jumped 36 1/2 inches, broad-jumped 10-1 3/4, clocked a 4.51 40, and did 4.21 in the pro agility — all terrific numbers for a tight end this size.

There is a little bit of an unknown factor with Musgrave, due to the lack of production and experience but he has huge upside, given his size and athletic traits.  Some have him projected mid-second round but I think he’s more of a third-round prospect.

If the Bills don’t go with one of the three elite tight ends at the top of this draft, I’d prefer they not take one in the third.  I feel this could be a better use of a pic than a potential project tight end.
