Tremaine Edmunds is a unique linebacker because of his experience (five years in the NFL), age (24 years old), and his combination of size (6’5″ and 250 pounds) and speed. However, if there is a linebacker that brings something comparable to what Edmunds does it would be Germaine Pratt, who has been a starting linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals the past three seasons.

Pratt was a third round pick by the Bengals in 2019 and at 26 years old still has a lot of football ahead of him. He also is a bigger linebacker similar to Edmunds at 6’2″ and 245 pounds. This past season was by far the best of his career with 99 total tackles, two interceptions, 10 passes defended, and one sack.

The biggest question, similar to some of these other linebackers, is can the Buffalo Bills afford him as he should command a big contract in free agency? It likely won’t be as high as Edmunds but should put Pratt near the Top 10 in average salary among inside linebackers.

However, the fit is undeniable for this defense as he is a player that excels against the run but brings that same coverage ability that Edmunds has that allows this defense to be successful.
