T.J. Edwards

The Philadelphia Eagles were one of the best teams in the NFL and it was due in part to having one of the top defenses in the league. One of the reasons for that was linebacker T.J. Edwards who finished the season with 159 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, and seven passes defended.

Edwards also was very effective in coverage as quarterbacks completed under 70% of their passes for an average of 7.5 yards per completion, according to Pro Football Reference.

T.J. Edwards is similar to Bobby Okereke in that he is a younger player that could provide the Buffalo Bills with a long-term answer at middle linebacker. However, after Tremaine Edmunds there is a case to be made that Edwards is the next best linebacker in free agency and he could command a big contract that the Buffalo Bills can’t afford.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see T.J. Edwards end up with the Arizona Cardinals, who hired his defensive coordinator from last season Jonathan Gannon to be their next head coach. If he doesn’t follow Gannon, and the two sides can agree on a contract, Edwards would be a good fit in this defense.
