Buffalo Bills should add a veteran quarterback

The first position may be a bit of a surprise because the Buffalo Bills already have Josh Allen under contract. He has developed into one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and as long as he is on the field, it gives Buffalo a chance to win.

However, Brandon Beane needs a backup plan if the scenario arises where Allen is not able to play. This almost played out last season with Allen’s elbow injury but he was able to return right after the New York Jets game and didn’t miss any games.

Over the past few years, the Bills have always looked for a veteran to back up Josh Allen with the signing of Mitchell Trubisky in 2021 and trading for Case Keenum last offseason. Keenum is set to be a free agent so this becomes a need for the Buffalo Bills.

The most logical move would be for the Buffalo Bills to re-sign Case Keenum but if a deal is not able to be reached, then adding another quarterback with starting experience is the right move. If the Bills are forced to be without Josh Allen for an extended period of time, it would be smarter to have a veteran step in versus a rookie with limited experience.
