Buffalo Bills Rumors: 3 shocking trade packages to land Derrick Henry
By Ryan Heckman
Trade Number 2
The Bills should ideally look to pair another running back next to second-year pro James Cook. But, a trade for Henry would mean they’re committing to him as their work horse. If that’s the case, then Cook becomes somewhat expendable. Henry would absorb most of the carries, and Buffalo could then use Nyheim Hines as their primary third down back; something he is very good at, and accustomed to.
In another deal, Buffalo could get shockingly aggressive by trading their young, second-round running back in addition to another draft pick.
Again, this is a steep price to pay for a one-year rental. However, if Henry is healthy and ready for one more strong year, he changes everything. Last season, the Bills were one more playmaker away from taking that final step toward the Lombardi. Stefon Diggs wasn’t enough. Gabriel Davis did not step up the way fans had hoped.
Having someone like Henry, whom every single defense in the NFL has to account for every time he’s on the field, would completely change the face of Buffalo’s offense.
They’re already one of the top rushing teams in football. Just imagine if they had Henry.
