The Bills cannot rely solely on adrenaline and emotion in this game

This is going to be a highly emotional game. It’s a home game for Buffalo, who just went through one of the most difficult weeks in their franchise’s history. Following the scene last Monday night where Damar Hamlin collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, players and coaches will be understandably full of emotion and adrenaline for this game.

This has all of the pressure in one game. It’s a division rival. It’s the final week of the season. It’s Belichick. The Bills need to win to keep hope alive for the no. 1 seed. And, it’s the first game played since Hamlin went down to that terrifying injury.

There are so many storylines for this one, and many will take a lot of energy out of these players and coaches. But when it’s time for kickoff, you better believe the adrenaline is flowing. It’s going to be tough to beat a Bills team going out there and playing for their brother, Hamlin.

However, they cannot fall into the trap of playing solely on that adrenaline. Buffalo must establish their identity immediately. They have to control the ball and the clock, and from there, keep their foot on the gas pedal.

Go out and win it for Damar, sure. But, keep that foot on the gas and don’t get too overcome with emotion.
