The Bills have to stick with the run game

Believe it or not, the Bills rank 9th in the league in rushing. It’s not something you would assume at first glance, watching this team over the course of this season, but Buffalo has remained committed to running the football.

Despite a potentially potent passing attack behind Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and company, the Bills have to remain committed to the run game. This will be a test for Buffalo on the ground. New England has been great against the run this year.

The Patriots are giving up the sixth-fewest rushing yards per game this season. They have also been stingy in the red zone, allowing the fewest rushing touchdowns in the NFL this season (7). But, if the Bills are going to win this football game, they’ll need to keep the Patriots defense honest.

We’ve already established the fact that they can take the football away better than anybody, and Allen has been susceptible to giving it away at times this season. He’s been under heavy criticism and some even think Buffalo is winning “in spite of” Allen. This has to be a game where the run game helps the quarterback out.
