Khalil Shakir

This week, Khalil Shakir is certain to have an expanded role but to what degree remains to be seen. The Bills lost Jamison Crowder last week to a broken ankle and he will be out for an extended period of time.

The player most likely to replace him will be Shakir and he should step in as the team’s starting punt returner. He should also replace Crowder on offense and could see roughly 30% of the offensive snaps based on how much the veteran played in this part of the game.

However, Shakir could see even more playing time if Isaiah McKenzie is also forced to miss this week. McKenzie has been the team’s primary slot receiver but is in concussion protocol and is listed as questionable for this week.

If McKenzie is not cleared, Shakir could play almost the entire game on offense and see the most playing time in the early parts of his career.
