Offensive Line

This was a tough game for the offensive line and injuries seemed to play a major role in their performance this week. It was noticeable very early that the absence of Mitch Morse was going to be a problem.

The Bills had Greg Van Roten get the start, and while he has experience at guard, this was his first career start at center. There were a few times where he struggled to get the snap to Josh Allen, like at the end of the first half.

In addition to Van Roten starting, the Bills saw Spencer Brown leave early due to the heat. He was replaced by David Quessenberry and for the most part, he played well but had a costly penalty at the end of the game that pushed them out of field goal range and didn’t give the Bills a chance to win the game.

In the end, the Buffalo Bills offensive line struggled to protect Josh Allen, who was sacked four times and made costly mistakes at the worst time. It was a bad game from this group and hopefully Mitch Morse and Spencer Brown can return next week to try and fix this group.
