The final player the Buffalo Bills could consider is Nate Ebner but if the team were to sign him it would be almost exclusively as a special teams contributor as he has almost no experience on defense over his 10-year career.

He would play the first eight years of his career with the New England Patriots before the past two seasons with the New York Giants. During his time with both franchises, Ebner has played only 178 defensive snaps but has 2,861 special teams snaps.

The Buffalo Bills almost certainly will need to add a safety this week and unfortunately finding a replacement for Micah Hyde creates a ripple effect. The team doesn’t necessarily need to find a replacement to replace Hyde on defense based on the performance of Jaquan Johnson and Damar Hamlin against the Miami Dolphins.

However, adding veteran experience at the position along with a player who can contribute on special teams will be the key. The good news is that the team will have some options based on the players on this list.
