Cornerbacks

The Buffalo Bills began the game with Christian Benford and Dane Jackson as the starters but with the injury suffered by Jackson, the coaching staff would have to have both rookies finish out the game with Kaiir Elam replacing Jackson.

The good news is that both cornerbacks had really good games, particularly with open-field tackling. Benford would finish with three total tackles, including a tackle for a loss in the first half. Meanwhile, Elam had four total tackles and one pass defended.

One of the reasons Derrick Henry has the success he does is that the Titans are able to call plays that get him outside and force cornerbacks to step up to make tackles.

Both rookies did an excellent job in this regard and this is now the second straight week they have had above-average performances. However, there is not a big test that looms in Week 3 for these two cornerbacks with the Miami Dolphins next and Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
