The Buffalo Bills announced their inactives ahead of Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans. However, unlike their last game there wasn’t as much uncertainty this week because the Bills have a number of players dealing with injuries that gave some indication of who would be out this week.

The team knew that Ed Oliver would not play this week after ruling him out after practice on Saturday. The former first round pick suffered an ankle injury in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams and was unable to practice this week.

It also seemed likely that Tim Settle would also be inactive this week, and that has been confirmed. Settle is dealing with a calf injury and also did not practice at all this week but there seemed to be a slight chance he would play as he was listed as doubtful and not ruled out.

The Bills will now look to a number of players to replace the void left by the absence of Oliver and Settle. Shaq Lawson is expected to be one of those players as he is active for the first time this season.

In addition to Lawson, the Buffalo Bills also elevated defensive tackles Brandin Bryant and C.J. Brewer from their practice squad and both players are active. Both players were with the team during the preseason and will now be asked to help slow down running back Derrick Henry.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Buffalo Bills are going to be without wide receiver Gabe Davis. The team’s starting wide receiver suffered an ankle injury on Saturday and is now going to be forced to miss tonight’s game.

This opens the door for potentially Jake Kumerow or Khalil Shakir to have an expanded role. Kumerow played over 30% of the offensive snaps in Week 1 but Shakir is the player to watch tonight. He had a great preseason but was inactive for the first game of the season.
