Buffalo Bills Player to Watch: DaQuan Jones

The Buffalo Bills signed defensive tackle DaQuan Jones this offseason after he played one season with the Carolina Panthers. However, prior to that, he played seven seasons with the Tennessee Titans after they drafted him in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

One of the reasons the Bills wanted to add Jones to this defense is that he excels on the interior of the defensive line clogging running lanes and allowing other players clear paths to make plays. He is able to keep offensive linemen engaged that doesn’t allow them to get up the field to block linebackers and secondary.

In the game against the Rams, Jones did a lot of these things and unfortunately they don’t necessarily show up in the box score so it is sometimes hard to gauge his impact. He did finish the game with three tackles and one QB hit but his impact goes beyond that.

If he can continue to do what he did against the Rams, it should set this defense up for success and this next player could have a big impact.
