5 impressive stats for the Buffalo Bills from Week 1 against the Rams
Buffalo Bills have another game with no punts
The Buffalo Bills signed punter Sam Martin right before the season but he didn’t get a chance to show fans what he could do as the Bills didn’t punt once against the Los Angeles Rams. This was the fourth time this has happened, dating back to last year, and the Bills lead the league in this stat.
The only time Martin was able to get on the field in Week 1 was to hold for Tyler Bass on field goal attempts.
While no team wants to punt, this was not necessarily due to the offense being perfect on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams. While the offense did play well, for the most part, the other reason the Bills didn’t punt was they had four turnovers.
Josh Allen had two interceptions while Zack Moss and James Cook each had a fumble in the opening game of the season. The Bills likely would take a few punts from Sam Martin if it meant cutting down on the turnovers because those typically give the opposing team a short field to work with.
