Buffalo Bills to keep Josh Allen, ‘most’ starters out of preseason finale
The Buffalo Bills are going on the road to face the Carolina Panthers for their final preseason game before the 2022 season. However, head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that the Bills won’t have most of the starters on the field at Bank of America Stadium, and that includes quarterback Josh Allen.
McDermott did say that he wants to give more opportunities to the second and third teams to show what they can do. This game against the Panthers will be the final chance for the coaching staff to evaluate players who are further down the depth chart and could be fighting for a roster spot.

It isn’t surprising to see the team decide to keep most of their starters out because there isn’t much to gain from having them play. The Buffalo Bills had almost their entire starting offense and defense on the field last week against the Denver Broncos and they played great.
The Bills would win that game 42-15 and had Josh Allen play the first series when he would complete all three of his passes for 45 yards and a touchdown pass to Gabe Davis.
There is no reason to potentially have them suffer an injury with the first game of the regular season less than a month away.
The Buffalo Bills’ final preseason game will be Friday night at 7 PM and then the focus will turn to cutting down the roster to 53 players and getting ready for the Los Angeles Rams.
