There is still one more preseason game for the Buffalo Bills, which is Friday against the Carolina Panthers, and there are a number of players who are fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster. This final preseason game will be pivotal to their chances.

However, for some players, they have made an impact since the Buffalo Bills arrived at St. John Fisher University and through the first two preseason games. They should feel confident going into this final game that they have a spot on the 53-man roster and are no longer on the roster bubble.

Matt Araiza

The first player is an obvious one in rookie Matt Araiza as the Bills released Matt Haack earlier this week. The veteran was Araiza’s only competition and with him no longer on the team, it will be the sixth round draft pick as the team’s punter and primary holder for Tyler Bass on field goal attempts for the 2022 season.

It has seemed since April when the Bills drafted Araiza that this was going to be the result. He has proven to be a reliable holder in the first two preseason games on a total of nine attempts by Bass (two field goals, seven extra point attempts).
