Christian Benford

The other starting cornerback in this preseason game opposite Kaiir Elam was Christian Benford, who was a sixth round pick by the Buffalo Bills. He also had a promising first impression for the Bills as he would finish the game with two total tackles and one pass breakup. That play would occur on third down in the first quarter and end the Colts’ drive.

The idea that Christian Benford could be the starter Week 1 didn’t seem likely at the beginning of training camp. However, the former Villanova cornerback has continued to step up when given the chance and if White is not able to play, Benford has certainly put himself in the discussion.

Luke Tenuta

The Buffalo Bills had only one player, on either side of the ball, play every snap and that was offensive lineman Luke Tenuta.

The extra snaps will be invaluable for Tenuta and give the coaching staff plenty of film but he appears to be a player that is likely going to need a season on the practice squad. There were a few occasions where Tenuta got beaten easily, including on the fumble by Case Keenum.

Baylon Spector

On the defensive side of the ball, Baylon Spector played the second most snaps for the Buffalo Bills with 50 total, which was 68% of the defensive snaps. He would lead the team with 10 total tackles and had a pass breakup.

It was a promising first game for the former Clemson linebacker but he will probably need to show more on special teams if he hopes to make the 53-man roster.
