With the way that Zack Moss has played, Duke Johnson appeared to be a long-shot to make the 53-man roster. However, on Saturday he didn’t really do himself any favors or put any pressure on the coaching staff to find a way to create a spot for him.

Johnson had six carries for nine yards with one reception for one yard on two targets. The biggest highlight for the veteran running back came on special teams when he had a 43-yard kickoff return.

The Bills signed Duke Johnson after the deal with J.D. McKissic fell through during free agency. He was a player that could bring a different dynamic to this offense as a serious threat out of the backfield as a receiver.

However, the addition of James Cook moved Johnson down the depth chart and when considering the play of someone like Raheem Blackshear, who had 71 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns, it only magnified how ineffective Johnson was against the Colts.
