For some players, they get limited opportunities during the preseason and if there is a mistake in those few chances, it becomes exceptionally glaring. That is the case for Jake Kumerow who was on the field to start the game with the second team and had two receptions for 20 yards on two targets.

However, he also had a big fumble towards the end of the first quarter.

Kumerow is entering his third year with the Buffalo Bills and has shown to be a valuable special teams contributor. The chances at wide receiver though have been few and far between with only 133 total offensive snaps in those years with the team.

The Buffalo Bills have plenty of playmakers at wide receiver, especially with the emergence of Isaiah Hodgins and Khalil Shakir, and if Kumerow was hoping to move up the depth chart or carve out more of a role on offense, a fumble like the one he had is not a great thing to put on film.
