5 things we learned from Day 8 of Buffalo Bills training camp

Christian Benford starting to make plays
Prior to practice, Leslie Frazier was asked about Christian Benford, who the team drafted in the sixth round this year. Maddy Glab tweeted that Frazier said he has the type of maturity you want to see.

The former Villanova cornerback is a big cornerback at 6’1″ and seemed the Buffalo Bills wanted to add size to the position. He certainly does that but also plays the ball well with 14 interceptions during his time in college.
Benford followed up Frazier’s comments on Tuesday with another strong practice and this time was going up against All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Benford just shadowed Diggs on the end line. Broke up a Josh throw easily. Really having a few great practices.#Bills

Early in training camp, it seemed like Benford had an uphill climb to make the roster with the way Nick McCloud, Cam Lewis and Siran Neal were playing. For Benford, it seemed like the practice squad made the most sense for his rookie season but the discussion may shift to him earning a spot on the 53-man roster if he continues to play the way he did on Tuesday.
